Call for nominees: BSIO Female Independence Award

The BSIO Female Independence Award aims to support young women in science working in the field of cancer research. Eligible nominees are Berlin-based female researchers who have recently established their own laboratory or are transitioning from a postdoc to a group leader. The awardee will receive a grant of 25,000 EUR to be used in supporting the new laboratory.

Application deadline: 30.04.2021.

Please apply to bsio@charite.de with the following documents:

  • CV and a list of publications.
  • Two reference letters.
  • Career goals and scientific vision for the upcoming five years, including a brief description of the planned research project(s) and a 5-year working plan. Please make a statement on how to use this grant to advance your research and overcome critical bottlenecks.
  • In the case of a transition phase of becoming independent, please provide evidence, e.g., an acceptance letter to a junior group leader position or an existing research transition grant.

Please note the following:

  • Only self-nominations are possible.
  • A nominee does not have to be affiliated with BSIO.
  • The grant has to be used by the end of 2021.
  • Spending is flexible: equipment, consumables, services, education, salaries or stipends, etc.

 

The awardee will be announced and invited to give a seminar around midsummer.
